Trip to Wey Valley on 19th February 2025
The C&D team to Wey Valley (Guildford) indoor club on 19th February had a great day. Coach from RHP club, lunch on arrival (ham/sausage/egg/beans & chips).
After a losing start, on a fast swinging green, it was a close match. We lost overall 121 to 132 shots, with John Paveley, John Wilson, Mike Lenard and skip Steve Haste winning the highest rink prize.
Evening meal was roast turkey carved on the tables and a wonderful pavlova desert. Despite the drama of the site access road being closed, our driver squeezed through the cones and we eventually made it back to RHP by 9:30pm - a great day out.
This was our 40th successive year at Wey Valley - if you want to come next year or join in other C&D friendlies, for those that play in C&D leagues get yourself nominated to the selectors on the annual return forms - always great events.

2024 COMPETITIONS
The competition is organised and held annually by Writtle B.C and is open to all C.D.B.A. affiliated clubs.
The Hospital Cup final was held on Saturday 7th September with Southminster and Falcon playing for the honours. It proved to be a close run thing with the Falcon winning by just 1 shot.
It is a fundraising event in aid of Little Haven Hospice when the external Cup competition runs alongside an internal Writtle B.C. Plate competition.
The Cup was presented to the winners by Writtle President Mrs Gill Ellis.
The 2024 Atkinson Shield Final was hosted by RHP B.C. on Sunday 1st September between Great Baddow "A" and Maldon "A" with the trophy being won by Great Baddow and presented by Association Deputy Senior President Andrea Garbutt.
2024 MARCONI CUP & ATKINSON SHIELD
The 2024 Marconi Cup Final took place at PML B.C. on Sunday 1st September between Chelmsford "B" and Stock "B" with the trophy being won by Stock and presented by Mavis Gardiner.
